To be eligible to join the Motability Scheme, you need to receive one of the following mobility allowances and you must have at least 12 months’ award length remaining. Please note that the Attendance Allowance cannot be used to lease a car through the Scheme.

Which allowance do you receive?

You must receive one of the four mobility allowances listed below in order to be eligible for the Motability Scheme

Higher Rate Mobility Component of the Disability Living Allowance (DLA)

Enhanced Rate of the Mobility Component of Personal Independence Payment (PIP)

War Pensioners' Mobility Supplement (WPMS)

Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP)

To lease a vehicle through the Motability Scheme you must receive a higher rate mobility allowance and have at least 12 months remaining. Once you have had confirmation that your allowance has been re-awarded for a minimum of 12 months you can apply. In the meantime the following links may be useful:
